From the Principal

Greetings Hickory Creek Families, 

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. My name is Tricia Dotson and this is my 26th year at Hickory Creek Middle School. I have previous teaching experience in other districts, and have spent my time at Hickory Creek serving as a teacher, an athletic coach, an instructional coach, assistant principal and as principal for the past three years. It has been a very rewarding career working along side such talented students and invested families. 

Our theme this year is, “A Year with Endless Potential.” Throughout the coming months, our staff and students will be exploring what is possible when we truly tap into our potential. We will also be looking for opportunities to empower those around us, in our school community, to explore their full potential.  

Our goals for this coming school year include:

Academic Goal:

• We will continue to provide rigor and opportunity for academic growth to all students in grades 6th- 8th. 

Social/Emotional Goal:

• We will support staff and student social and emotional needs and enhance the opportunity for growth in relationships with one another.  

Communication Goal:

• We will increase opportunities for family engagement both during the school day and through extra-curricular activities.  

Safety Goal: 

• We will provide a safe learning environment for staff and students in our learning community.
