From the Administrative Team

Welcome to Chelsea Intermediate School!

At Chelsea, we strive to provide a learning environment where all students feel comfortable and confident while engaged in learning experiences that further their growth as individuals.  We are proud to provide rich and rigorous academic instruction, along with many opportunities for social and emotional learning, all while having some fun along the way.  It is our privilege and pleasure to make memories with your third, fourth, and fifth graders!

The school day at Chelsea emphasizes opportunities for students to reach their full potential as learners. Your child will participate in engaging, innovative lessons in the core subjects of ELA, math, science, and social studies, along with PE, art, music, STEM, and Spanish. During these lessons, our students practice critical thinking, creative problem solving, collaboration, and communication.  Our highly qualified teachers strive to challenge all students while making sure to create a safe and fun space to learn!

In our school community, we are inclusive and embrace all. Our differences are part of our strength and are to be both celebrated and highly valued.  The Chelsea School community is built on the foundation of our core values – Respect, Responsibility, and Caring.   Both students and staff work to exemplify these values every day.

We are very fortunate to have a strong, collaborative partnership between our families, students, and staff here at Chelsea.  The strong relationships that we cultivate as partners in education benefit our students as we learn and grow together.  As part of that partnership, please expect consistent, clear communication and requests for your feedback.  Also, please follow us on social media so you can see daily photos and updates from the Chelsea teachers and administrators.  Follow us on Twitter by adding @Chelsea_Tigers.  We tag all of our happenings with #WeAreChelsea.

I am honored to be the principal of Chelsea Intermediate School, and to be a part of such a strong and supportive learning community. My door is always open, so please reach out to me if you need anything. I am very excited to be a part of your child’s journey of learning.  A wonderful school year awaits!

Sincerely,

Rachel Newcomb

Welcome Chelsea Families!

It is an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal at Chelsea Intermediate School.  This is my 2nd year at Chelsea and my fifth year serving the Frankfort 157c school district.  Before coming to Frankfort, my career in education included the role of an Instructional Specialists and middle school science and math teacher.

As the Assistant Principal I work closely with our Principal Ms. Newcomb and Dean of Students Mr. Innocenti to ensure all students are afforded the opportunity to participate in challenging and engaging experiences that help them grow as productive and responsible citizens.  I am proud to be a member of a team that focuses on the whole child, not only through academics but also socially and emotionally.  In addition, I oversee Chelsea’s district and state testing, work directly with our MTSS team, and I am the Section 504 coordinator for our 5th grade students.
I look forward to working with our Chelsea families and to a successful school year. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, celebrations, or concerns.

Thank you for all your support as we begin the 2023-24 school year,

Paula Paymaster

Hello Chelsea Families!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  It is an honor and a privilege to serve as Chelsea’s Dean of Students.  This will be my fourth year serving as school dean and my fourteenth year as an educator here in Frankfort School District 157C.  I am happily married to my wife, Brenda, of six years and we have a four-year-old daughter named Lyla.

As Dean of Students at Chelsea School, I am responsible for providing student support in the areas of behavior and discipline, school safety, student attendance, socio-emotional learning, and coordinating Section 504 Plans for both third and fourth grade students.

In collaboration with our Chelsea team, I am dedicated to fostering a love for learning, promoting critical thinking skills, and instilling our core character values of respect, responsibility, and caring in our students. Together, we will work hard to ensure that each student receives a well-rounded education that prepares them for success academically, socially, and emotionally.

I am excited to partner with our Chelsea Families this school year!  Your input and involvement in your child’s education will help guide our team in creating a positive learning experience for all our students.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me or another member of the Cheslea Administrative Team.
Thank you for entrusting our team with your child’s education.  I look forward to a successful 2023-2024 school year!

Sincerely,
Ricky Innocenti
