From the Principal

Welcome to Grand Prairie!  At Grand Prairie, we strongly believe in providing an experience where children can soar academically, socially, and emotionally. Our mission is to unlock the full potential of each young hero while fostering a joyful, healthy, and safe environment. This year, our school theme is “Superheroes," and we are thrilled to kick off an epic year alongside your young hero!

Our staff is dedicated to implementing current research-based instructional practices in all content areas.  Students will hone their skills in critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and effective communication. Our super teachers are dedicated to pushing every hero in their class to new heights while ensuring a safe and exciting learning adventure.

Grand Prairie is devoted to championing an inclusive and fair experience for all students. Our aim is to ensure that everyone who enters our building feels valued and respected. Socially, your young hero will have numerous chances to embody positive character traits. They will learn to distinguish between "expected behavior" and "unexpected behavior." They will also discover how to identify their emotions and show empathy for others through mastering The Zones of Regulation. Teachers are constantly on the lookout for heroes demonstrating traits of respect, responsibility, and compassion. Your child might even return home with a "Super Student" award they earned for embodying these positive character qualities.

For us to achieve true success, we call upon you to be our partners in your child's journey. We believe that young heroes thrive when a strong alliance is forged between the home and the school. Our mission is to establish a powerful bond based on mutual respect and support as we collaborate in creating opportunities for student success.  Our focus remains aligned to our district mission, “to prepare students to be confident, life-long learners and productive citizens by challenging them to reach their fullest potential and by providing a quality educational environment in partnership with family and community.”

Once more, welcome to Grand Prairie! Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We are eagerly looking forward to embarking on this SUPER school year with you and your young hero!

Warmly,
