From the Principal

At Grand Prairie, we strongly believe in creating a learning experience where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our mission is to help each child shine bright—just like the stars of their favorite Disney stories—while fostering a joyful, healthy, and safe environment. This year, our school theme is “Disney,” and we are thrilled to begin a year full of magic, imagination, and adventure alongside your young dreamer!

Our staff is dedicated to using current, research-based instructional practices across all content areas. Students will build skills in critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and communication—just like the curious minds and courageous hearts found in every Disney tale. Our magical team of educators is devoted to guiding each child on a learning journey that is both inspiring and challenging.

At Grand Prairie, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for all students. Our goal is for every child who walks through our doors to feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Socially, your child will have many opportunities to grow their character. They will learn the difference between "expected behavior" and "unexpected behavior," explore their emotions, and develop empathy through The Zones of Regulation. Teachers are always on the lookout for students demonstrating respect, responsibility, and kindness—traits that would make even Mickey Mouse proud! Your child might even come home with a "Fast Pass" award for showing their best character.

To make this year truly enchanting, we invite you to be our partners in your child’s journey. Just as every great Disney story includes a strong support system of friends and family, we believe students thrive when home and school work hand in hand. Our mission is to build a partnership based on trust and collaboration as we work together to help each child reach their full potential. This aligns with our district's vision: “to prepare students to be confident, life-long learners and productive citizens by challenging them to reach their fullest potential and by providing a quality educational environment in partnership with family and community.”

Once again, welcome to Grand Prairie! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are excited to begin this magical new school year with you and your child—where dreams really do come true!

Warmly,

Kim Szudy.
