From the Principal
Dear Grand Prairie Families,
I hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer! The teachers, staff, and administration at Grand Prairie are eagerly preparing for the 2022 – 2023 school year during this time. We greatly miss growing with our students and wanted to provide options for our families to engage in learning with their child(ren) this summer.
Grand Prairie is excited to share our optional “Summer Bucket List Challenge” with you and your family. All Grand Prairie future first and second grade students received a copy of the book Magic Treehouse: Dinosaurs Before Dark and all future third grade students received a copy of the book The Losers Club. In addition, all students received a “Summer Bucket List” of activities to complete related to their specific summer reading book. These activities can be found by clicking on the link HERE. Once your child reads the book and completes the activities, he or she should visit the Grand Prairie office to collect a yard sign that can be proudly displayed in your yard for all your friends and neighbors to see! To kick off this challenge we have a quick video starring everyone’s favorite tiger, Stripes! The link to the video can be found at Grand Prairie Summer 2022 Reading Challenge - YouTube!
Once again, all our summer activities are completely optional for our students and their families. We are truly thankful for your partnership and support when it comes to educating your student(s). We know together we can do great things! We look forward to seeing all our young learners again in the fall, until then, stay healthy, safe, and well! If there is anything I can do for you and your student, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Have a wonderful summer!
