From the Principal
Welcome to Grand Prairie! At Grand Prairie, we believe in the importance of providing an experience where children are given the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We strive to maximize each child’s individual potential in all areas, while creating a happy, healthy, and safe environment. This year our school theme is "Legos", and we are excited to embark on an awesome year with your young learner and you!
Our staff is dedicated to implementing current research-based instructional practices in all content areas. Students will grow and develop skills in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. Our highly qualified teachers strive to challenge all learners in their classrooms while making sure to create a safe and fun educational experience.
Grand Prairie is dedicated to ensuring an inclusive and equitable experience for all students. Our goal is to ensure everyone who enters our building feels valued and respected. Socially, your child will continue to have many opportunities to understand and internalize positive character traits. Students will learn the difference between “expected behavior” and “unexpected behavior.” They will also learn how to identify their feelings and embrace empathy for others through The Zones of Regulation. Teachers are always on the lookout for students demonstrating positive Character Counts traits of respect, responsibility, and caring. Your son/daughter may even come home with a “Master Builder” reward he/she earned for demonstrating positive character traits.
For us to be successful, we ask you to join us as partners in your child’s education. We believe that children grow and develop to their highest potential when a strong relationship is built between the home and school. Our goal is to develop a home school connection based on mutual respect and support as we work together in providing opportunities for student success. Our focus remains aligned to our district mission, “to prepare students to be confident, life-long learners and productive citizens by challenging them to reach their fullest potential and by providing a quality educational environment in partnership with family and community.”
Once again, welcome to Grand Prairie! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We cannot wait to share this AWESOME school year with you and your child!
