NJHS at HCMS Puts Together Care Packages for Nursing Home Residents

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at Hickory Creek Middle School recently put together care packages for the residents at Frankfort Terrace Nursing Home in downtown Frankfort. Students wanted to do something nice for the older residents of Frankfort, who have been especially affected by the isolation and loneliness from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Frankfort 157-C Students Submit Work for the Annual ArtWorks Exhibition

Over 80 Frankfort 157-C students submitted their artwork digitally for the annual ArtWorks Festival. Artwork submitted was created during art class throughout the 2020-2021 school year. 157-C had students participate from every grade, including Kindergarten!
Submissions included self-portraits, clay donuts, collages made with scrap paper and magazine clippings, mandalas, cityscapes, and 3D creations made with chipboard, tempera, and wire.

Chelsea 5th Graders Complete D.A.R.E. Class with Officer Riff

Congratulations to our 5th graders! They finished 10 weeks of D.A.R.E. with Officer Riff and graduated before Spring Break. They learned all about making wise decisions, handling stress, bullying prevention, drug prevention, being a good citizen, and resisting peer pressure.

157-C Students Help Long-time Frankfort Resident Celebrate Her 100th Birthday

A long-time Frankfort resident celebrates a huge milestone on Friday, March 26. This year, Laverne Johnson celebrates her 100th birthday.
Frankfort 157-C students could not pass up the opportunity to make Mrs. Johnson’s birthday special. In collaboration with the Village of Frankfort, students of Frankfort 157-C created over 150 cards wishing Johnson a happy birthday.

JV Girls Volleyball Regionals

For the last 10 years, the junior varsity girls volleyball team at Hickory Creek Middle School (HCMS) has played in the regional championship game five times, three of which were against Summit Hill Junior High. This year was no exception.
