CDC Updated Guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools

On Friday, July 9, the Illinois Department of Public Health fully adopted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidance for COVID-19 prevention in K – 12 schools.
The FSD 157-C administrative team is reviewing the guidance and its implications on our schools for the 2021-2022 school year. We will continue to prepare to open our schools and assess all options for the coming year while being communicative with our families and staff as we work to finalize plans.

Frankfort School District 157-C Returns to Full In-Person Learning for 2021-2022

We are pleased to announce that Frankfort School District 157-C will return to full in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year beginning Wednesday, August 25.

This decision aligns with a May 19 resolution from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). The unanimously passed resolution supports a planned declaration by Illinois State Superintendent of Education Carmen Ayala that all Illinois schools must return to full in-person learning for all student attendance days in the 2021-2022 school year.

Chelsea Social Worker, Eric Pistek Collects Over 500 Crayons for SCARCE

Chelsea social worker Eric Pistek has collected over 500 crayons to donate to SCARCE’s “Super Crayon” project. SCARCE is an organization dedicated to environmental education and conservation. Their “Super Crayon” project keeps broken and otherwise unusable crayons from being tossed in landfills.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

For the staff at 157-C, Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is a bright spot at the end of the school year. This year, FSP put on a wonderful week-long celebration to show their gratitude and express the community’s heartfelt thanks.
