Chelsea students recently raised $34,029.68 for the American Heart Association during the annual Kids Heart Challenge! Thank you for your generosity!

Hickory Creek held their annual school-wide spelling bee last week! Seven competitors faced off for the title of HCMS Spelling Bee Champion. After over eight rounds of fierce competition, Adrian Beri was named the champion. He will be participating in the county-wide spelling bee in late March.

The third grade wax museum at Chelsea was a huge success! Students recently presented their biography projects to family and friends after weeks of researching a historical figure of their choosing and practicing their speeches. Great work, Tigers!

Grand Prairie Elementary School’s annual Mitten Tree is filling up! Please consider donating a new pair of gloves/mittens, scarves, or hats this winter season through Thursday, December 22.

Congratulations to the 6th grade girls basketball team! They had an undefeated season and finished as the Des Plaines Valley Conference champions over Nelson Ridge.

Chelsea students and staff donated over 50 full boxes of food to the Frankfort Food Pantry during Stack the Stock!

Students at all three FSD 157-C schools honored veterans on Friday, November 11. Hickory Creek hosted a Veterans Day concert Thursday night and a veterans breakfast Friday morning. Chelsea, Grand Prairie, and Hickory Creek all held assemblies to show their appreciation for our local veterans.

Congratulations to the HCMS students chosen for the District 1 ILMEA band and orchestra festival: Ellie Freeland, Nathan Freeland, Matthew Jansen, Taylor Jones, Alex Langlois, Morgan Stoiber, Reese Valek, and Elise Wyatt!

Hickory Creek welcomed author Dan Gemeinhart, author of many young adult novels including “The Honest Truth”, “Scar Island”, and “The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise” yesterday! Students heard all about his life as an author and the importance of not giving up.
