Keys to Kindergarten
Daily Take Home Items
Every student will have his/her own Purple “Take Home" folder that goes between home and school DAILY.
- Please check/empty your child’s folder every night to see what we're up to & for any important news/class updates!
- Please send any important notes or papers (transportation changes, permission slips, notes for me, etc.) into school via this same folder - specifically on the right-hand side labeled “Right Back to School."
- Take out & keep any other papers/completed work at home from the left-hand side, labeled “Left at Home".
Every student will also have his/her own Purple Fluency Bag that goes between home and school DAILY.
- Inside, you'll find specially chosen books that are right at your child’s current reading level.
- Please practice reading these books every night, & place them back inside the purple fluency bag to bring back to school to use each day!

ERIN'S LAW 2023 - 2024
We are required by Erin's Law to provide lessons on sexual abuse and prevention education. Grand Prairie Elementary School Social Workers will be teaching a lesson in your child’s classroom about the "Think First and Stay Safe" program.
- The lesson in November will cover the concepts of "Using My Built In Computer: Staying Healthy and Safe."
- The lesson in January will cover "Laws Help Protect Me: Kids Have Rights Too!" and "Listening to My Instincts: No Secrets".
Should your child have any questions, you may refer to the handout that will be provided to them on the day of the lesson. - If you have additional questions, feel free to contact a School Social Worker – Morgan Bilthuis or Rebekah Munch.
