About Mrs. O'Hea

Hi Students and Families! My name is Tara O'Hea, and I'm happy to be your teacher this year! I have two degrees: A Bachelor's Degree in English from St. Norbert College as well as a Master's Degree in Special Education from Northern Illinois University. I am certified as a Learning Behavior Specialist I for Pre-K-12th grade, and I am also a certified middle school and high school English Language Arts Teacher (6th-12th grade).

I have a passion for teaching and love working with middle school students. I am an avid reader and enjoy discussing books with my students. I enjoy writing and journaling as well, and love working with all of the writers in my class.

I am married to my wonderful husband and am a mother of 3. I have a rescue Maine Coon cat named Totoro. In addition to reading and journaling, I also enjoy yoga, nature walks, traveling, and going to concerts.

In my class, you can expect an open environment where everyone is valued and respected. We read and have discussions about a variety of topics. We also write and share our written words with each other. I am always so proud of my class and how much they improve throughout the year. It is an honor to watch them grow from the beginning of eighth grade all the way to graduation.
