You will find a general outline for weekly instruction below. Please keep in mind that instruction & homework may vary or change throughout the week based on student needs and understanding.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions! I look forward to working together this year to best support your child! We are going to have a great year!

Math

This week, we are really diving into our last module of 3rd grade! Module 7 is geometry and measurement word problems. Our focus this week will be to compare and classify quadrilaterals and polygons, draw polygons with specific attributes, and create a tangram puzzle to observe relationships among shapes.

Reading

This week, we will continue our 4th quarter skills, focusing on literary texts! Our essential question of the quarter is "How do people inspire change in others?" We are going to spend the next few weeks doing an author study of Patricia Polacco- one of my favorites! :) Our focus standards are RL 3.3, RL 3.5, and RL 3.9. Believe it or not, we will be taking the literature summative on Friday (5/10).

SS

This week's mystery is "What can magnets do?"

Writing

We are going to begin an inquiry-based research project! Students will brainstorm and determine their topic, along with guided questions to help with research.
