Welcome to our class page! I am so excited to begin the 2023-2024 school year with our new classroom family! Please use this website to keep up with the latest updates in our classroom. You will find a general outline for weekly instruction below. Please keep in mind that instruction & homework may vary or change throughout the week based on student needs and understanding.

Math
This week, we will continue module 6- collecting and displaying data. We will complete lessons 6-9, which focus on interpreting measurement from various line plots, representing measurement data with line plots, and analyzing data to problem solve. 
Reading
 

This week, we will continue our 4th quarter skills, focusing on informational texts! Our essential question of the quarter is "How do people inspire change in others?" We are going to explore topics of conservation and our focus standards are RI 3.3, RI 3.8, and RI 3.7.

This week's mystery is "What makes bridges so strong?"

 

Writing

Students will be introduced to our final poetry style, acrostic poems. We are going to edit and revise our poems. By the end of the week, we will begin to publish our final poetry books!

E Learning Schedule

 

*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons  3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
