Welcome to our class page! I am so excited to begin the 2025-2026 school year with our new classroom family! Please use this website to keep up with the latest updates in our classroom. You will find a general outline for weekly instruction below. Please keep in mind that instruction & homework may vary or change throughout the week based on student needs and understanding.

This week, we will continue Module 7. Students will complete lessons 6, 8, and 9. Students will draw polygons that have specific attributes. They will also create specific polygons utilizing tangram pieces. Additionally, they will complete a formative assessment on Friday, May 8th. They will also take their final math Fastbridge assessment on Tuesday, May 5th. 

 

Need help with homework? Search "Eureka Math, third grade, module 1 lesson ___" on YouTube :) Each day in class, we will be completing a portion (or all) of the problem set. Students are responsible for completing the corresponding homework pages for our daily lesson on Monday through Thursday each week. Please make sure your child is putting their workbook right back in their backpack after completing their homework. You will find all homework assignments written in their planner and on our class webpage.

Informational Standards

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3.1 Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.

CSS.ELA-Literacy. RI 3.3 Describe the relationship between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text, using language that pertains to time, sequence, and cause/effect.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3.5 Use text features and search tools (e.g., key words, sidebars, hyperlinks) to locate information relevant to a given topic efficiently. Use information gained from illustrations and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy. RI 3.8 Describe how the author connects ideas between sentences and paragraphs to support specific points in a text.

 

This week we will continue our Patricia Polacco unit. We will focus on the texts Chicekn Sunday, Something About Hensleys, Bully, and Mr. Lincoln's Way. Students will be completing short answer responses relating to comparing and contrasting characters. On Thursday, May 4th students will take their final reading FastBridge assessment.

This week, we will begin our final social studies unit- economics! On Monday, students will be coming home with a letter that outlines and upcoming project called Market Day. Please be on the lookout for this letter as it requires your approval!

*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons 3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
