find Grand Prairie boys and girls high moms and dads my name is Mrs turbo I am the music teacher here at Grand Prairie show you around classroom before we take a look at the curriculum slides for tonight's presentation so this is our music room I have lots of xylophones space bars drums triangle Glockenspiel Morocco has all kinds of things that have been funded through the Education Foundation so thank you to them because I am so grateful and I know the students are so grateful we love to use instruments every single week and some way kindergarten takes a little bit longer to get started on those I use a lot of puppet stuff to animals songs really we just have a lot of fun so if you have any questions after you watched my PowerPoint video feel free to meet you so hi my name is mrs. turnbow once again and I want to take you through a little bit more about the curriculum that we're going to have here at Grand Prairie from music and sorry I can't feel my face while I'm talking to you but let's go through this quickly K so quick facts about me before that I also taught first grade in the purple community and in the gold Community my name was Miss blow this before I got married I love my job I have the best job in the world so much fun I get to be creative and I get to see so much joy through the children's eyes when they come to my room I have to son Adam is in first grade at Elementary in Elkton is in preschool he is for I also my husband Brian is the Children's Museum in Frankfurt and Creamery logo so once a week we will meet for music for 35 minutes we're going to play games dang perform composed and provides and what will we learn these are just some of the things we are going to learn I'm going to go over these quickly and I will also link this on my teacher webpage we're going to talk about hit high low and medium size call Melody's go up down or stay the same and sing read and write the notes olatni music expression we are going to identify loud quiet fast flow all the different Dynamics from pianissimo and the speed or the tempo is allegro presto Disney very fast if you go up to the top over here bead and Rhythm we're going to try to tell when they're they're the beach with sound and when they is not we're going to move and play to the steady beat tell when there is one sound on a beach 2 sounds on a beat or no sounds on a beach we are going to read these notes we are going to identify the Timbre of the music which means we are going to identify singing voices classroom instruments and body percussion like stop napping padding with four more going to decide how phrases are tell if they're seemed different different sections of the music and a b form and 88 Rondo form and then finally we're going to create and perform Rhythm composition Melanie's New versus sound effects to music to music to accompany poems and stories what am I things to do about to take children's books and create music with them we are going to perform and the audience members were going to connect to the music by listening to songs from other cultures and telling places that come from and Teller show how music makes us feel with movement these are some of our vocabulary words here and finally want to talk about the xylem big part of my curriculum curriculum and a lot of times teachers and students alike adults alike will ask why I have some bars take off of my xylophone sometimes kids and really it's just kind of a music stay safe haven it avoids any possibility that I could have friends together that would not sound very nice and it kind of makes creating music a little less intimidating especially for kids so ask him if they've ever heard me say no burgers or fries I will tell you that just means no after me and finally every child as a musician I think in the past a lot of us probably came from an education system where we had to be quote on quote right students progress and Sanders vets National Education for music education and we will continue working out their main room so are they trying their best even are they participating in the activities
