Apps
Epic:
Epic is an app we utilize that features an enormous library of popular children's books and novels. Many Epic books include a "read to me" feature for the kiddos that enjoy audiobooks. There are also a variety of educational videos to explore. This is a great tool for children where reading is a nonpreferred task. **The one setback is that Epic turns off access at 3:00 PM and is unavailable on weekends unless you have a premium prescription. I am attaching the login information incase this is something you are interested in purchasing.
Click on the tab for class code. Class code: iia0135

Book Creator:
Book Creator is an app that sounds just like its name. Students are able to create their own story or comic using a variety of tools. They are also able to read each other's stories! Unfortunately, we are only able to have 40 books in the library at a time, so students are only allowed to work on one book at a time.
If the site asks you to enter the code: TGL5TK7

Freckle:
Freckle is an app that serves as a great review tool and continuation of learning. I am able to assign skills and texts that work with the reading strategies we are practicing in class.
Go to Freckle.com and choose login as a student.

You will then need to enter your child's first and last name.
Finally, choose my class and you're in! The "backpack" is where you will find any tasks that I have assigned.

**Students are also able to sign into any apps that we utilize in class by first signing into their Microsoft account and locating ClassLink.
