Welcome to Mrs. Szkolny's Webpage

Welcome to the 4th Quarter!!!

(you may have to copy and paste)

We will be continuing with our weekly spelling practice!  Each Monday, the students will be given a set of words to study for the week that follow a certain spelling pattern and/or sound.  We will work on those words throughout the week, and there will be an assessment given on Friday (the "Monday" and "Friday" may vary depending on the school week).  The students will be given the list, write the words in their assignment notebook, and be given an OPTIONAL packet of work on Monday.  Again, that packet is optional and will not be taken as a graded assignment.  It is simply something that you can work on with them at home should you choose to do so.

The week of April 29th we will focus on words with the schwa /uh/ sound:

The test will be Friday, May 3rd.

Please encourage your child to complete a lesson of Reflex every day.  Everyone started with practicing the addition and subtraction facts.  Once those are mastered, the students will move on to multiplication and division.  We work on it in class when we can, but at-home practice is the key!  We now have twelve students who have mastered multiplication and division!  They are now practicing and having fun on Prodigy.  We have eleven students who are on multiplication and division, and three of them are more than 80% done... so close!  I am so very proud of their hard work! :)

Please make sure that your child has whatever you want them to wear for outdoor recess.  We send them out to get much needed fresh air whenever possible, and the weather changes a lot this season!

Please check this webpage for upcoming homework and important dates.  If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me!

We're in this together, and we are going to rock this school year!

Please stay safe...stay healthy...and stay active!

Respectfully,

Mrs. Szkolny :)

The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
