Week at a Glance: March 1st - March 5th
Math: This week in math we will completing lessons 5-9 in Module 5. These lessons focus on partitioning a whole into equal parts and identifying the unit fraction. Materials needed for this week will be their Module 4/5 workbook, computer, pencil, expo marker, smart pal, and Module 5 packet from their blue folder.
Reading: This week in reading we will begin our informational standards on text structures. We will be discussing sequence and how we use flow charts to show the sequence of events in a story. We will be reading Bat Loves the Night from our Story Town reader to support this standard along with various other non-fiction articles. Materials needed for this week will be your Red ELA folder from supply pick-up and computer.
Writing: This week we will continue our Fairy Tale Unit. Students have created their own adaptation to their favorite fairy tale of choice and have planned out all of the different elements of their stories the past 2 weeks. This week they will wrap up the writing process of their fairy tales and towards midweek will being taking that draft to publish on bookcreator. Materials needed this week will be your Fairy Tale Packet from the yellow folder, pencil, and computer.
Science: This week we continue our Animals throughout Time unit. We will be looking at animals with several exploration experiments with Mystery Science. Materials needed will be their Animals Packet from their green folder, pencil, and computer.
SWI: This week for SWI students will be going to their Structured Word Inquiry TEAM page to meet with Mrs. Szudy to discuss their lessons for this week. Materials needed will be a pencil, SWI notebook, and computer.
Cursive: We will be working on the lowercase letter d.
