On this webpage you will find an overview about our curriculum for the quarter, weekly updates, nightly homework, important dates, and helpful links. (Keep in mind that instruction and homework may vary or change throughout the week based on student needs and understanding.) Please use this website as a supportive resource for your family. *DEPARTMENTALIZING

This year 4^th Grade will be departmentalizing our subjects as fifth grade does. Students will not be in one classroom and have the same teacher all day for all subjects anymore. Each of us fourth grade teachers will have 2 sections of students that rotate in midday. I will be teaching 2 sections of Math, Science and Social Studies while my partner, Mrs. Tucker, will be teaching 2 sections of ELA (Reading, Writing, Structured Word Inquiry, etc.). In other words, I will have my “Homeroom” and teach them Math, Science and Social Studies in the morning while Mrs. Tucker teaches her “Homeroom” ELA in the morning. Then we switch classes midday and I teach HER “Homeroom” Math, Science and Social Studies in the afternoon while she teaches MY “Homeroom” ELA in the afternoon. So, your child will have 2 classroom teachers (Mrs. Tucker and myself) this year as we will have 2 sets of students. We are super excited to start this new method of instruction in 4th grade!
