Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year. I hope you have had a safe, healthy, and enjoyable summer.
Although summer has ended, it is always a nice change to return to the routines that going to school brings (no matter what instruction looks like). I am glad to be returning to a consistent routine of learning about the students, teaching them about how to further develop their speech and language skills and improving their overall communication skills to improve their school experiences.
This year begins my 17th year in our district and 20+ years of teacher. I began my teaching career in Addison, IL, near where I grew up. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University. Go Huskies! This is the area I have called home for nearly 15 years. My husband and I have two daughters who are in 8th and 5th grade.
I enjoy working with and learning about my students and consider my time with them invaluable.
Besides our work done via remote learning, speech homework will be provided. More information on speech homework with be forthcoming and will be provided once I have had some time to get to know students and the commuication skills they possess.
We will abide by the Chelsea Expectations for Classroom Behavior, demonstrating respect, responsibility and caring in our remote learning setting.
Thank you parents in advance for ensuring that the most is gained from each session. I look forward to working with you and your children. I anticipate continued growth in the relationships with the students with whom I have had the pleasure of working during the last school year and look forward to forming new partnerships with the students beginning this year. I appreciate your time and anticipate a productive and enjoyable 2020-2021 school year.
