Below, you will find a "Week at a Glance" which provides a general outline for instruction. On the side ➡ of this page you will find links to additional information, such as homework, important dates, and cool links. Please keep in mind that instruction & homework may vary or change throughout the week based on student needs and understanding. Week at a Glance: September 1st - 5th

 

*Reading:📚 

EQ – What is change?

This week we will read the book, "The Most Magnificent Thing" and the story "Home" to practice asking quality before, during, and after reading questions.

 

*Math:📊 

Module 1 – Properties of Multiplication and Division

This week we will complete lessons 6-8. Students will also learn to identify the unknown in division as either groups or size. We will also learn about the commutative property of multiplication.

 

 

*Writing:📝

This week we will continue our narrative writing unit. Students will choose their seed idea.

*Social Studies:🌍
We will begin our unit on communities.
*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons  3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
