Reading: Novel study- Odd, Weird, Little by Patrick Jennings
Chapter 1 Monday
Chapter 2 Tuesday
Chapter 3 Wednesday
Chapter 4 Thursday
Chapter 5 Friday
*We will be reading a chapter a day. Daily homework will consist of Re-reading the chapter each night. Students are required to bring their novel home and return it the next day. We will be doing Stop and Jots (annotating) in the text, Front loading vocabulary, identifying Main Idean and Details, and Identifying Character Traits. We will also work on comprehension questions and applying the RACE strategy. This week our skill will also focus on similes.
Writing: Narrative writing with journal writing, using COPS strategy
Grammar: Continue working on Capitalization rules and how it applies to sentence writing
