About me...

Welcome Class of 2024!

My name is Dawn Gaertig, and I teach math & honors math on Team 8A...as well as co-sponsor for Scholastic Bowl. I am so excited to begin my 23rd year of teaching! This is my 19th year at Hickory Creek Middle School (with seven of those years in 7th grade).

My husband and I are enjoying being empty-nesters. While we raised our sons in Frankfort, we currently reside in Indiana.

I love teaching math! In class, students will be challenged. They will make mistakes. And they will learn that making mistakes is part of the learning process. Often times when a student understands 'why' it didn't work it helps them understand the correct method.

All daily agendas, homework, and upcoming assessments will be located in TEAMS. The 'Class Link' button (to the right) allows immediate access to Delta Math and IXL for students in case they are not on their school/home computer.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with all of you!
