GENERAL MUSIC

This year, your child will explore music through fun, hands-on activities like singing, moving, playing instruments, and composition projects. We’ll focus on rhythm, pitch, note reading, musical symbols, and expression.

Students will create music both on their own and by collaborating with classmates. We’ll dive into everything from early jazz in the late 1800s to the rise of rock and roll in the 1950s and today’s modern hits. Students will also learn about a wide range of genres and influential musicians from around the world.

My goal is to help each student build a strong foundation in music, develop confidence in their creativity, and enjoy every step of the journey.

I’m so excited to be your child’s General Music teacher this year! This is my seventh year of teaching and my first year at Chelsea, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a vibrant and welcoming community. I’m passionate about music education and believe in creating a classroom where every student feels inspired to explore, create, and enjoy music.

I also value open communication and partnering with families to support each child’s growth. I look forward to a fun and meaningful year of music-making with your child!
