6TH GRADERS-
What a Year It's Going Be!
This year marks my 22nd year at HCMS and what a journey it has been! I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My primary focus has been ELA for the past few years. but recently I shifted positions to fill the social studies role for our team. The 6th grade social studies curriculum explores the fascinating topic of ancient civilizations, which I love. I've also taught science, ELA, and math (previous district) and equally enjoyed teaching all the subject areas. In addition to teaching, I am presently a HCMS Drama/Speech coach and a Scholastic Bowl advisor/coach. I've also served on various committees throughout the years at HCMS, creating materials for ELA and social studies curriculum and instruction. In addition, I've served as SLT team leader; wrote initial grants for the HCMS Rebecca Caudill program; produced the HCMS newsletter for 4 yrs; served as the NJHS advisor for the founding HCMS chapter with Stacy Rutovic; served on the Charitable Giving Committee and coordinated the HCMS "Letters to Santa" program for 21 years. (this is part of the list)
When I'm not attending or involved with one of the many events at HCMS, our growing family, pets, and family adventures, ensure there's never a dull moment.
Make this a year to remember!
There's always something happening at "The Creek," and we encourage our students to become involved, explore different clubs, sports, intramurals, and discover their potential.
