Math Update – Eureka Grade 5, Module 5: Topic B , Mid-Mod 5 Test and Topic C
Students are extending their understanding involving volume, including finding the volume of solid figures composed of non-overlapping rectangular prisms. Ask your child which animal or building they are creating. Formative B is Monday. Study guides went home last week and are due Wednesday. Our Math Test is Thursday, May 8. Up next in Topic C, we will be calculating "area of rectangular figures" with fractional side lengths using tiling and visual grids.

Science Update- In lesson 3 of Watery Planet, students construct an explanation about a surprising phenomenon: the existence of underground water. In the activity, "Wanted: A Well", students play a game in which they must obtain and combine information about groundwater in order to select the best site to build a town.
