Week at a Glance: September 14th-18th

*Reading:📚

EQ – What does it mean to change?

In ELA this week, students will be reading chapters 1-12 the novel Quinny and Hopper and focusing on questioning, and character traits, feelings, actions, motivations, and point of view.

*Math:📊

Module 1 Properties of Multiplication and Division

This week, we will continue our math lessons with Module 1. We will be focusing on modeling division using an array or tape diagram and interpreting the quotient as the number of groups using units of 3.

*Writing: 📝

Students will focus on creating a sense of closure in their writing.

*Social Studies:🌍

This week we will continue focusing on communities while learning about community helpers and beginning goods and services.

*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons 3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
