Welcome To 4th Grade!

I hope you can use my site to help your student with homework, gather information about what our class is up to, and stay informed on the things that we will be doing. Please make sure you are checking back here on a weekly basis to stay up to date on homework; it will be found in "Week At A Glance".

An exciting change for our fourth graders is the movement from Math to ELA (or vice versa)! I will be teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies to your students this year. My teaching counterpart is Ms. Stauffacher. Her classroom is right next door (meaning down the hallway a little), and she will be teaching ELA which encompasses reading, writing and word study. My homeroom class is listed on things as Block 1. Mrs. Stauffacher’s homeroom is listed as Block 2.

Class Dojo!

This year I will be utilizing Class Dojo to help show the amazingly outstanding behavior our class is showing throughout the week and as a communication tool for parents.  Each week we will have "Top Three" winners that will earn Tiger Tickets, and each month with will have our "Top Three" winners who will earn a Tiger Buck for a month's worth of excellent behavior.

On top of this, Dojo can also be used as a quick messaging app that I can use to communicate both personally and whole group with my classes parents.  If I ever need to reach my parents with a last-minute piece of information, I will post it on Class Dojo "Class Story" sectioni.  If my classes parents need to message me about their student, they can also do this through the app using the "Chats" section.  If you have not signed up for Class Dojo yet, it's not too late.  I will link the codes below.

Social Studies

Our class started with maps, landforms, latitude, and longitude.  This year, our focus will be the regions of our country.  The first region we are working on is the Northeast region.  For each of the regions we will learn and discuss the land, water, climate, products, natural resources, and culture.  The students will also learn the placement of each state on a map along with the state capitals for each state.
Block 1 Library is on Thursdays from 1:30-1:55.
Make sure your student has their library books to return so they can discover new adventures every week!
Class Link Information
What if your student wants to access their classlink at home, but they didn't bring home their school computers?  Do not despair, I have the steps your student needs to follow in order to get onto their classlink.

1. Click on the "ClassLink Login" button on my page.
2. This will take you to the "Sign in to ClassLink" page; click on the gray "sign in with Microsoft" button.
3. This will bring your student to a Microsoft login page.  They just need to enter the username and password they use for their school computer (this can be located on a sticker inside their agenda book).
4. They should be automatically transferred to their school classlink page.

Once they're on their page, they will have the ability to reach any of the apps that they use in the class.
