Welcome!

I am SO excited to start my 5th year of teaching as a second-grade teacher here at Grand Prairie Elementary. 

Education

I am a 2020 graduate of Illinois State University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language.  I also received my Master's in Reading at Olivet.

Philosophy

Each day a student is in school, we prepare them to be effective, hardworking, and contributing members of society. They must learn from a teacher who cares about them as a person and practices what they preach with evident enthusiasm and passion. They need to trust their teacher to learn from them and to one day be someone who is authorized to fulfill their societal duties. After all, teaching is the profession that creates all other professions.

Fun facts

I got married on August 3rd, 2024 at Mistwood Golf Club! I grew up in Minooka, Illinois where I went to Channahon Elementary School District and Minooka High School District. I have a dog named Lilly, who is a rescue. I enjoy going to my cottage in Sister Lakes, Michigan. I love the Chicago Cubs. I spend my free time listening to true crime podcasts and reading mysteries.  I love to read and my goal is to read 100 books by the end of the year. I love teaching because I get to see my students thrive and grow as a person and as a student. I love how my class becomes my family each year.
