Mr. Van's Fourth Grade News.
May 13th - 17th
Field Day information sent home on Thursday.
We are all set with our Zoo Trip Chaperones. An email will be sent out to chaperones soon with all details.
We are a Peanut Aware classroom this year so please consider peanut / nut alternatives for individual student lunches and snacks.
Classroom Behavior
The class has been struggling with talking and lack of focus. Simple errors on work will cause grades to drop. Please have the "chat " Basic classroom expectations need improvement. Writing down homework and bringing it back and forth to school are a must.
There is too much talking and goofing around. Many warnings have been given out. We can do so much better. Reflections / Referral will be the next step.
Camp Half-Blood
We are Ares Cabin Five & we are partnered up with Apollo in the afternoon. Thank you so much for the donations for our fourth grade Camp Half-Blood event. The classes are loving the activities and decorating so far. Currently we are just setting up camp and getting things set up.
Math
We are now on module 4 which includes angles and lines we will make it to the mid module and then end the year. Please keep up with Zearn and Reflex.
Social Studies
This will be our last region. We will discuss the West region along with its climate, landforms, and culture. The students should be reviewing state placement and state capitals.
We will finish the year up with State research and state floats.

Here is the information on how to order hot lunch through the My School Bucks site.
Ths site can be found by going to the fsd157c.org website then scroll down to Online Payments and then find My School Bucks. you can order from there. I believe they also have a phone app you can use.

Weekly Math Schedule & Work
Everyday Monday - Thursday there will be Math homework. Please bring the book back and forth each night.
Below is a link for parents for the Math Curriculum. Mrs. Averbeck has designed a Padlet or a "One Stop Shop" for all out math needs. She will guide you through what is included like manipulatives, videos and all practice and homework pages.
Zearn
Students need to continue to work on Zearn throughout the week. I would love for them to keep as close to the current lesson if they can. We are currently on Module 5 lesson 20 tomorrow.
Students should be able to log into their lap with their password on their laptop. The password should be pasted in their agenda notebook.
Reflex
The students use ClassLink on the laptop to log into most websites like reflex and Zearn.
E-Learning
If we need to go into a day or week of E-Learning the schedule is linked below at the bottom of the page.
Nightly Expectations for Homework
Math - Nightly homework from daily lesson. Zearn stay with in 2 lessons behind or ahead of daily lesson. Reflex continue to move along with a minimum of 2 - 3 nights
