Welcome to Mrs. Szkolny's Webpage

You're less than a month away
from having a 4th Grader!!!

(you may have to copy and paste)

This will be our last spelling list!  The students will be given the list on Monday, write the words in their assignment notebook, and be given an OPTIONAL packet of work.  Again, that packet is optional and will not be taken as a graded assignment.  It is simply something that you can work on with them at home should you choose to do so.  With two shorter weeks, they won't take the test until Friday, the 31st.

The week of May 20th we will focus on words with /au/ and /aw/:

Again, the test will be Friday, May 31st.

Please encourage your child to complete a lesson of Reflex every day.  Everyone started with practicing the addition and subtraction facts.  Once those are mastered, the students will move on to multiplication and division.  We work on it in class when we can, but at-home practice is the key!  We now have thirteen students who have mastered multiplication and division!  They are now practicing and having fun on Prodigy.  We have eleven students who are on multiplication and division, and three of them are more than 80% done... so close!  I am so very proud of their hard work! :)

Please make sure that your child has whatever you want them to wear for outdoor recess.  We send them out to get much needed fresh air whenever possible, and the weather has been changing a lot!

Please check this webpage for upcoming homework and important dates.  If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me!

We're in this together, and we are going to rock this school year!

Please stay safe...stay healthy...and stay active!

Respectfully,

Mrs. Szkolny :)

Erin's Law Presentations
Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12.   The Chelsea Intermediate School social workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
