It is our FINAL week of remote learning! You’ve made it! The attachments this week include the last lesson plans and a Digital Memory book to fill in. If completed, I hope your family shares this memory book with us! We would love to see the responses. If your child is completing the State Float, please send it to me as well. I will be uploading it to our Grade Level Padlet for all families to see and celebrate. (This could be either format- the PowerPoint or a picture of an actual float.)
We will have our last class Zoom meeting this Tuesday, May 19th at noon. An email with the invitation link will arrive the morning of our meeting. I hope each student can make it in order to say our goodbyes. Our activity will be to share favorite memories from the year and advice to give incoming fourth graders. I’ve attached a template if students would like to create a mural or list to share with the class.
ONE BOOK, ONE SUMMER
Your child will receive a copy of the novel, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo in his/her supply box when you pick up it up in the beginning of June. In the month of July, activities will be shared to enrich the story. We hope you will join us in this opportunity.

Parent Survey on Class Placement: The planning process for the 2020-2021 school year has begun! This is a lengthy process, and one we take very seriously. There are many factors we consider as we develop our schedule and class lists. We work with your child's current teachers as part of our comprehensive process and invite you to provide your input as well.
We welcome you to share your perspective on your child's placement for the coming school year. At the hyperlink HERE, please communicate your child's learning style along with his or her educational and social emotional needs through the online survey program called Survey Monkey. This survey is for Chelsea students only.
Providing this information about your child is optional. If you choose to share your input, please utilize only this form to do so, as it is our official way to collect this important information from you. Please do not contact your child's teacher or another staff member regarding placement requests for next school year.
Please limit your comments to the type of classroom environment or teaching style that is most beneficial for your child. Please do not request a specific teacher by name but limit your comments to a description of your child's academic and social-emotional needs. If you choose to share your input, please complete this survey by April 30, 2020.
Invitation Reminder: We never want to have a child feel left out or have their feelings hurt by not receiving an invitation to a party. Even as adults, we know the emotional hurt from being excluded. This is why we highly discourage the passing out of invitations at school. The only exception is if you are inviting the whole class and the invitations are distributed by your child’s teacher. Invitations are never to be distributed by a student or parent. Thank you for your cooperation.
FastBridge Testing: FastBridge is District 157C’s universal screening instrument. This assessment will be administered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to help teachers determine which students are likely to meet the end of the year learning goals, which students may require intervention, and help to determine advanced and honors placements for the following school year. This computer based assessment measures performance in Reading and Math.
