Positive Case:  This number indicates the number of positive COVID-19 cases for our students or staff who were confirmed via a laboratory test and reported to the Illinois Department of Health.

Close Contact:  This number indicates the number of our students or staff who were identified as being a close contact to an individual at school who has a confirmed case of COVID-19.  According to the Illinois Department of Health, a close contact is an individual who was within less than 6 feet of a positive case for longer than 15 minutes.  Close contacts are notified by the school and are required to quarantine.  The quarantine period can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring.  Quarantine can end after Day 7 if a diagnostic specimen tests negative and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring.
