Welcome to my teacher page! I am so happy to be working with your children this school year. Together, we will work towards your children's goals and prepare them for success at HCMS and beyond.

For the 2017-2018 school year, I am co-teaching ELA with Mrs. Bouck as well as teaching a specialized instruction ELA class. I enjoy working with my wonderful students.

This week in class

Monday
**This page reflects assignments in my ELA class. Please see Mrs. Bouck's teacher webpage for assignments from our co-taught ELA classes**

9/25: We will be reading Rules and discussing theme. We will also be comparing and contrasting the experience of listening to an audio recording of a book vs. the experience of reading it.

Tuesday
9/26: We will finish reading Rules today. We will determine the theme of the novel and also discuss how point of view effects the novel. HW: 1st choice book talk is due tomorrow.

Wednesday
9/27: The students will be taking a literature outcome assessment today. We will then work on individual goals and word work activities.*Choice book talks are due today.

Thursday
9/28: *Theme Thursday: Day*
The students will be taking a NewsELA benchmark today.We will also be learning context clues strategies and complete word work activities.

Friday
9/29: Today, the students will be engaged in writer's workshop. We will also continue our NewsELA benchmark and complete word work activities. Homework is to continue to read your choice books this weekend. Remember, the expectation is that you read one choice book approved by me and also one choice book that is a Rebecca Caudill Award Nominee by October 26th. I will assess whether you read these books or not through our "book talks". Book talk #2 is due on October 26.
