Teacher Info

Nicole Rutan - Kindergarten  (Send e-mail)

Welcome to Kindergarten! Our classroom is in the Green Community. I am super excited to be your child’s teacher this year! I cannot wait to meet everyone and start the year!
My teacher page will be updated often and important dates and reminders will be located here.

Each student has a Take-Home folder that will travel to and from school daily. Please check the folder nightly to ensure important papers and updates are being sent home. You can send any notes back to school in the folder.

I will be sending home a green fluency reading bag that will go home daily. For the first couple weeks, I will be putting books in the fluency bag not at your child’s level. For these books: read the book together, let your child pick out known letters/words, and talk about the book. Once we get into the swing of school, I will put leveled readers inside the bag.

***Specials do NOT occur every Monday, Tuesday, etc… Instead, they will fall on a T, I, G, E, or R day. When we are off of school, it is a NO LETTER day.

T day: PE and ELC
I day: PE
G day: PE and Art
E day: PE and Technology
R day: PE and Music

We have PE every day! YAY! Please have gym shoes at school.

Lunch:11:20-11:40

STACK OUR FOOD PANTRY

Grand Prairie will be collecting canned and dry goods until February 8th to donate to our local food pantry. The food drive will assist families in need in our community.

Frankfort Township Food Pantry provides food for 325 families monthly. Community food drives help make sure those children and their families can get emergency food assistance when needed.

We are collecting canned goods in conjunction with our cup stacking tournament being held on February 6th and 7th at Grand Prairie School. First and second graders participate in the cup stacking tournament. We want to “Stack our Food Pantry!”

Please share what you can. If every child at Grand Prairie brings in one item, we can donate 811 cans to the pantry! Every single donation helps, and together we hope our combined donations will make a real difference for those in need. The food pantry is asking for nutritious canned and dry goods. Thank you in advance for your support!

Thank you to all those that already donated!!

MOTHER'S DAY TEA AND SPA DAY- SAVE THE DATE!

I know it seems far way now, but time has a way of sneaking up on us. I also want to give all mothers proper notice to be sure to hold the afternoon open so we can have 100% attendance for MOMS. It's such a special day to have 1:1 time with your child. Bring your tissues because there will be some tears. You will also be pampered by your child. Please save the date!
