Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to building a partnership with you to help your child reach their highest potential!

** Website is updated weekly. Daily HW assignments will be communicated in Remind101 text messages. They are also linked to this website. The daily activities on the website are subject to change due to student needs.**

TIGER Schedule:
PE is every day, be sure to have gym shoes. :)
T-day: PE, Spanish
I-day: PE
G-day: PE, Art
E-day: PE, Music & Library
R-day: PE, STEM

Students may "switch" to another teacher on Team 4C. Students are expected to bring their assignment notebooks to their ELA class to record assignments/due dates on a daily basis. It is recommended to check your child's ELA teacher's website as well.

ERIN'S LAW:
Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for their students in grades Pre-K through 12. In response to this legislation, Frankfort School District 157-C will be presenting, "Child Lures Prevention: Think First and Stay Safe", curriculum for the 2017-2018 school year. Our presentations will occur in November and January.
Our next date of Erin's Law is Wednesday, Jan 24th.

Ad-ELA: Our third unit in ELA will be centered around stories of adversity and perseverance. We will be reading "Bud, Not Buddy" and embarking on a new journey of Book Circles for our advanced ELA text. Students will have the opportunity to select their advanced ELA text and participate in discussion and activities with students reading the same book. In writing, we will begin to practice and refine our writing skills in the genres of literary analysis, research simulation, and narrative.

Math: In the 5th module, students work with unit fractions as they explore fraction equivalence and extend this understanding to mixed numbers. This leads to the comparison of fractions and mixed numbers and the representation of both in a variety of models. Benchmark fractions play an important part in students’ ability to generalize and reason about relative fraction and mixed number sizes. Students then have the opportunity to apply what they know to be true for whole number operations to the new concepts of fraction and mixed number operations. Parents looking for homework help: I recommend Duane Habecker's videos on YouTube. The module number and lesson number can be found on the daily assignments for the week. Parents can see how it is being modeled in class to help their child at home.

EF CASINO NIGHT:
The Frankfort School District 157-C Education Foundation invites you to their Casino Night.
Please join us Friday, March 2, 2018 from 6:30 PM to Midnight at The Odyssey on 19110 South Ridgeland Ave, Tinley Park. Please join us for a sit down dinner, open bar, DJ, gaming tables, live and silent auctions, raffles and more! The deadline for tickets is Feb 20th!
