Grand Prairie Elementary School Transportation

Transportation Changes
Please notify the teacher in writing if there is a change in your child's transportation (e.g. being a car rider instead of bus rider or vice versa). If notification is not received, your child will follow his/her regular method of getting home. Please note that children are not permitted to ride a different bus to or from school. Please contact the school office when making special arrangements. Changes in a student's departure routine must be given to the office 30 minutes prior to a child's dismissal time.

Dropping Off and Picking Up Students at Grand Prairie Elementary School
The earliest students can be dropped off at Grand Prairie Elementary School is 8:05 a.m. There is no staff supervision for students in the morning until after 8:05 a.m. During the summer, the parking lots were expanded and re-routed in order to be more effective for morning drop off and end of the day dismissal. Please observe the following rules when dropping off and picking your child up:

Use the car rider line in the East Parking Lot to Drop off and Pick Up children.

For the safety of the children, please load/ unload your child between the two cones in the car rider line.

Do not drop children off in the main parking lot. Due to safety issues that may arise from children passing between parked busses, we are asking that all children be dropped off in the car rider lines only.

Please do not use bus lanes for picking up or dropping off children. These lanes need to remain clear as busses come and go throughout the day. The bussing lanes are also used as a fire lane and must remain clear in case of an emergency.
