Grand Prairie Elementary School Character Counts
Grand Prairie Elementary School has been working hard all year to initiate the Character
Counts program. The program highlights six “pillars” of good character including
respect, citizenship, responsibility, trustworthiness, farness, and sharing. Character
education activities take place in each classroom and at every grade level.
The School Social Worker will be visiting classrooms each month to go over the definition
of the pillar of the month and facilitates students’ participation in various activities
related to that pillar. Classroom teachers have been provided with additional resources
to further support the program. The physical education teachers are also actively
involved in incorporating the Character Counts program at all grade levels as a
part of their daily curriculum.
