Week at a Glance: December 1st - 5th
*Reading:📚
This week we will compare and contrast the main idea and details of two texts. Students will take the informational outcome assessment on Friday December 5th.
*Math:📊
Module 3 – Multiplication and Division with Units of 0, 1, 6-9, & 10
This week we will continue Module 3 and complete lessons 8-11. We will learn about parenthesis and the associative property of multiplication. Students have been working hard on our multiplication challenge! Students have made multiplication cards in class and should be practicing them at home.
*Writing: 📝
This week students will use their research to write a speech about their changemaker. Rough draft of speeches will go home at the end of the week for parent review. Students should type or rewrite a final copy to turn in on Monday, December 8th.
*Social Studies: 🌍
We will begin our unit on maps and globes.
*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons 3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
