Week at a Glance: September 14th - 18th
*Reading:📚
EQ – What does it mean to change?
This week we will distinguish our point of view from a character’s point of view in a story. We will read “Voices in the Park” and “The Day Eddie Met the Author.” We will also begin our first novel study on Quinny & Hopper by Adriana Brad Schanen. Students will now take the reading Fast Bridge test on Thursday, 9/16.

Module 1 Properties of Multiplication and Division
We will begin this week with a review and then students will take the mid-module 1 assessment on Tuesday, 9/15. Students will take the math Fast Bridge assessment on Wednesday 9/15. We will then finish the week with lessons 11 & 13.

This week students will self-edit, peer-edit, and work on their final copies!
*Social Studies:🌍
We will learn about urban, suburban, and rural communities.
*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons 3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
