Week at a Glance: October 12th - 16th
*Reading:📚
EQ – What does it mean to change?
This week we will continue distinguishing our point of view with the author’s and utilizing nonfiction text features to help us understand a text. Students will take the informational summative on Wednesday, October 14th. We will then work on finding the main idea and supporting details of an informational text.
*Math:📊
Module 2 Place Value and Problem Solving with Units of Measure
This week we will complete lessons 10 & 11 in which we will add and subtract on a number line and solve word problems with capacity. We will also review at the end of the week.
*Writing: 📝
We are working on narrative PCR writing in which students read a text and retell a science from a different character's point of view. This week we will review prompts and distinguish between 1st and 3rd person point of view.

We will continue to learn about fossils!
*Governor Pat Quinn signed Erin's Law in January of 2013, which requires all schools in the state of Illinois to provide age appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education programs for students in grades Pre-K through 12. Our lessons 3rd grade students will begin the week of February 1st. The Chelsea Intermediate School Social Workers will be teaching each lesson in the child’s classroom. The "Think First and Stay Safe" program will be the curriculum utilized for these lessons with a focus on Child Lures.
